Where to Take the Polish Certificate Exam in 2026

There are over one hundred authorized entities, but the exam takes place only where a center registers it for a given session. These are two different lists, and only one tells you where you need to go.

You take the exam where a center organizes it, not where it is based

This distinction determines everything, and almost all guides get it wrong. The Ministry keeps a list of authorized entities that may organize exams - there are more than one hundred of them. Authorization does not mean, however, that a given entity organizes the exam in every session or that it does so in the city where it is based. Before each session, the State Commission publishes a separate list of centers: the entity, city, levels and registration address. This list answers the question "where can I take the exam".

The summary below was prepared from the lists of centers for the three 2026 sessions: 25-26 April 2026, 27-28 June 2026, 17-18 October 2026. A city was included in the list if the exam was planned there in at least one of these sessions.

Cities in Poland

During these sessions, the exam has been held or is planned in 23 cities in Poland, at 93 centers. The largest number is in Warsaw - and that is no accident: this is where the largest number of authorized language schools operate.

Outside Poland

You can also take the certificate examination abroad. In the 2026 sessions, centers operated in these places:

The list of foreign centers changes more from session to session than the list within Poland, because it depends on individual agreements. If you live outside Poland, check it before every registration.

What this list does not tell you

  • It does not tell you whether places are still available. The limit is set by the center, and in large cities it can be filled within a few days after registration opens.
  • It does not tell you the price. The examination fee is set by regulation, but centers may be organized differently, and you pay the fee to the account indicated during registration.
  • It does not tell you which level you will pass. The levels in the overview are the ones that a given center reported for that particular session. The same center may report different levels in the next session.
  • It does not replace registration. You register with the center, at the address given above, not with the State Commission.

How to choose a center

  1. Start with the level, not the city. If you are taking C1, the choice is clearly narrower than for B1 - not every center reports higher levels.
  2. Check the registration deadline, not only the exam date. Registration usually closes a few weeks before the session, and earlier at popular centers because places run out.
  3. Plan travel for two days. The exam lasts two days: the written and oral parts may be separated, and the center sets the times for the oral part.
  4. Do not rely only on distance. If there is one center in your city and it has not reported your level for that session, a neighboring city may be the only option in that session.

Questions and answers

W ilu miastach w Polsce można zdać egzamin certyfikatowy z polskiego?

W sesjach 2026 roku egzaminy zaplanowano w 23 miastach w Polsce, w 93 ośrodki.

Najczęściej dostępny jest poziom B1, bo to on wystarcza do wniosku o obywatelstwo polskie.
