1. Vocabulary: Work and Career
Prosisz przełożonego o trzy dni wolnego. Jak to ujmiesz?
Poloniusz explains:
„Prosić o urlop” is the fixed collocation and the only one that fits a conversation with your manager. „Biorę urlop” is what you say about yourself to someone else, and „muszę mieć wolne” presents your boss with a fait accompli.

2. Speaking: format and strategies
Nie zgadzasz się z kolegą na zebraniu. Jak to powiesz?
Poloniusz explains:
A polite objection first concedes part of the other person's point and only then states your own. The other two are head-on and in Polish professional conversation usually harden the other side rather than persuade it.

3. Vocabulary: offices and formalities
Wniosek nie przechodzi przez system. Co powiesz w urzędzie?
Poloniusz explains:
„Mam problem z” names the matter without blaming the other person and opens the way to help. The first blames the office, and the third has the wrong form after the verb; you say „złożyć wniosek”, not „zrobić”.

4. Speaking: format and strategies
Spóźniłeś się na spotkanie. Jak przeprosisz?
Poloniusz explains:
After „przepraszam za” comes a noun, and a short explanation is expected in Poland. The second is incomplete, because „spóźnić się” requires the particle „się”, and the third is too casual in register for a work situation.

5. Vocabulary: Work and Career
Opowiadasz na rozmowie o pięciu latach za kierownicą. Co powiesz?
Poloniusz explains:
After „pracować jako” comes the job title, and a closed period is introduced by „przez”. The first has the wrong form after the verb „być”, the second drops „jako” and sounds incomplete.
